Tia Edwards is a well-respected leader in public service and private industry with over 25 years of leadership experience. Edwards holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from Loyola University and a Master’s in Education Leadership and Administration from the University of Houston, and has extensive knowledge in public and community relations, education administration and workforce development.
As the former Deputy Secretary of the Louisiana Workforce Commission, and the Director of Public Affairs and Workforce Development for the Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA). Tia also has over 15 years’ experience in higher education and in the K-12 environments in strategic positions at the University of New Orleans, University of Houston, Baton Rouge Community College, and the Houston Independent School District. Additionally, she served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Communications and Speech at Southern University Baton Rouge
Currently, Edwards is Principal of TO THE T, LLC experts in training, consulting, facilitation, and professional and human growth development. Edwards also specializes in Workforce Development, Public Affairs, Advocacy, Community Outreach, and Corporate Communications.
Throughout her career, Edwards received honors for her expertise in the field of public relations, receiving the Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL) 2003 Public Relations Practitioner of the Year. She was also recognized by The Baton Rouge Business Report as a 2010 Influential Woman in Business and by the Baton Rouge Chapter of LINKS, Inc. as a 2008 Louisiana Legend.
Edwards is a mother of three sons and a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
