Sandra born and raised in El Paraiso (The Paradise City), small city in Honduras, surrounded by rivers and mountains and coffee farms.
Sandra along with her brothers had to move to Tegucigalpa, the Capital of Honduras for their University Studies and she decided to become a biologist, working later in different laboratories, Shrimp farmers and professor of environmental education classes at the University of Honduras, supporting programs to improve the Aquaculture in her country.
Years later in 2002 Sandra got married and moved to Louisiana with her husband and few years later born her only daughter Gabriela Marie Lutz, who is her inspiration and for whom Sandra overcame many obstacles and challenges, language barriers, trying to adapt to a new system being divorced and far away from her country and her family.
Sandra Diaz, started working in small Latino Restaurants in Baton Rouge, taking English Classes during the nights and couple years later Sandra Diaz started working with different Programs serving families and the Community in Louisiana for almost 15 year.
Sandra received the invitation to work in her first Program HIPPY with The EBR School System, helping parents to teach their children in home to be successful in the school.
Her second program came from LSU AgCenter and become Nutrition Educator translating and bringing the Nutrition program to The Latino Community for first time.
Sandra had the dream of buy a beautiful house for her daughter and her. Sandra new she have to do an extra effort to reach her goals.
A new opportunity appears to bring important information preventing and early intervention about HIV/AIDS.
