Ruth Collins

Ruth Collins is married to Emel Collins, Jr for 45 years, mother to Joey Collins and Lauren Collins Gunter.  She is an entrepreneur, award winning radio advertising professional, a public relations professional, a lifetime member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.  As a member she has won awards locally, statewide, nationally, and was the first woman to achieve an International Training Fellowship as a member of Junior Chamber International, where she traveled nationally conducting Leadership Training Classes. She has participated in numerous mission trips to Alaska, assisting with the Salmon Frenzy and the Iditarod Sled Race. She teaches a weekly Bible study at Highland Baptist Church where she is an active member.  Her favorite subject to teach is the book of Revelation.

She and her husband own a successful business of thirty-five years in the Charitable Gaming Industry.

She is a founding member of the Association of Charitable Supporters and currently serves as its president.  The industry is facing many challenges which limits an organization’s ability to raise funds for its programs.  She works with the Office of Charitable Gaming, Louisiana Legislature, and local elected officials to protect local charity’s ability to raise funds.

Ruth is a survivor of stage 3B Breast Cancer and is now cancer free for eight years.

After many successful years working with and traveling with the Junior Chamber of Commerce, both her and her husband found their passion in helping charities.  Today along with Emel and Joey they travel the state of Louisiana working with charities to raise funds for their programs successfully thru charitable gaming.  As President of the Association of Charitable Supporters, she is an advocate working constantly with the State Office of Charitable Gaming and the Louisiana Legislature to protect charities and educating our elected officials about charitable gaming.
