Judge Foxworth, appointed District Court Judge in Division M in August 2020, presides over Criminal Section VIII, handling misdemeanors and capital punishments. A veteran with 13 years in the Army Reserve, she served in Desert Storm and became a Commissioned Officer during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
A first-generation college graduate from Southern University, Foxworth earned her bachelor’s degree in science in 2001. Transitioning to the USAR Nurse Corps, she embraced empathy and compassion. In 2005, she obtained her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center, practicing as an attorney for 15 years before taking the bench.
As a judge, Foxworth emphasizes compassion, especially for the predominantly African American community she serves. Committed to community engagement, she believes in making a difference and being a visible presence. With 85% of cases involving African Americans, she seeks justice for all.
