Joaneane Smith is the President and CEO of Global Commerce and Services, LLC (GCS). She has more than 25 years of experience in management consulting and information technology. Joaneane has traveled across the country implementing PeopleSoft for some of the country’s largest corporations including Smurfit-Stone Container, and University of Rochester to integrate technology solutions and services. She was awarded Top Achiever for Outstanding Performance and Achievements, Excellence Team Award, as well as the Star Performer Award. At the same time, she has completed successful IT engagements for small, medium, and large-sized businesses throughout the country. Ms. Smith is motivated, persistent, and passionate as a small business owner while ensuring she has the best and the brightest on her management team.
As a small business owner, Joaneane has consistently led GCS to be an award-winning technology company delivering solutions and services to the Navy, Army, Air Force, USDA, DISA, NASA, and DHS federal government agencies. She guides our employees to make a significant impact on each contract.
Joaneane has been invited to speak to graduating students at Southern University at New Orleans and Louisiana State University Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities. She also participated in Washington D.C. Senate hearing regarding the government furlough.
She participates in several community service organizations to assist in growing our children and young adults in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields by volunteering for STEM NOLA’s STEM FEST, as well as the University of New Orleans’ Information Literacy Roundtable Discussion. Other community services events include Adopt A Family for Christmas, feed the homeless, deliver food to Habitat for Humanity, provide annual scholarships to New Orleans Chapter of The Links Inc., and the Ron Brown Scholarship Program.
