Instructional Specialist, Ryan Elementary School
My name is Jeanine Elizabeth Leonard. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My mother’s name is Shirley Leonard. I am the 3rd out of four children; Wendy, Darryl, and Angela. I am a single parent of a 21 year old, Olivia Anders. Olivia is a junior psychology major and is a 3rd year Southern University Cheerleader.
I attended Dufrocq Elementary, McKinley Middle Magnet, and graduated from McKinley Senior High School. I am proud to say that I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Southern University in Elementary Education and my Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Reading.
I am currently an Instructional Specialist at Ryan Elementary School. Prior to that, I taught middle school, 1st grade and 4th grade. I have over 19 years of teaching experience, 17 of which have been at Ryan Elementary.
I absolutely love teaching. I know I am truly blessed to have a career that is rewarding. Each day I see my efforts paying off. Because of that alone, I keep giving it my all. This career has taught me loads of patience. I know that I may not see results right away when teaching children, but eventually with consistency and the best instruction, all children, and I do mean all children can and will learn.
