Former Nurse, Baton Rouge General Hospital
Mrs. Earl Dean Joseph was born in Woodville, Mississippi and was educated in Catholic Schools with Authentic Nuns. She graduated from McKinley High School located in Baton Rouge, LA. She is one of the 1st Nursing School Graduates of Capitol Area Training School. She’s one of the 1st Nurses of Baton Rouge General Hospital. She worked on the Polio Unit of the Baton Rouge General Hospital and was able to implement the newly developed Salk Vaccine for those patient’s stricken with Polio. This vaccine was an amazing treatment for those patient’s that had limited limb mobilization and severe crippling. She was able to view the miraculous eradication of the disease and increased quality of life for those patient’s that suffered a severe case from the disease. The mother of 5 has been a pillar of the Baton Rouge Community for many years. Sharing her spirit of kindness, genuine concern and message of hope with notes of love. Everyone she encounters leaves with an elevated optimistic view of life. She is truly an earth angel.
