Carroll Morton is a native of New Orleans and received a degree in Sociology from Tulane University. She is the Director of Film New Orleans in the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy. Carroll’s passion for film and culture led her to several positions in the Cultural Economy Office, including Manager of the City’s 2018 Tricentennial, Deputy Director of the Film Office, and Senior Advisor to the Deputy CAO.
Carroll’s current position as Director of the Film Office provides her with an opportunity to work in the film industry, with film as her great passion. In her role, she works to attract and grow production in the State, creates film workforce training programs, and develops programs to support women and independent filmmakers.
Carroll also gives back to her community and is currently serving on the Advisory Board for the New Orleans Video Access (NOVAC) and Women in Film and Television (WIFT). She has worked collaboratively with the New Orleans Film Festival to develop the festival and expand programming.
As the mother of a child with an intellectual disability, she has championed educational opportunities for disabled children, served on the board of the Chartwell School, and volunteers at St. Michael’s Special School.
In addition to her two daughters, Carroll’s passion is attending film festivals and international travel.
