Brenda Perry Dunn

Brenda Perry Dunn is the CEO of BPD Consulting Services, LLC., and works with Administrative, Program & Management Staff in the areas of Quality Assurance and Administrative Services at Recovery Treatment Centers in Baton Rouge and Marksville, Louisiana.  With over 30 years in both public and private sectors, she has experience in management consultation, team building, professional development, and company collaboration. Mrs. Dunn serves as The Administrative & Quality Assurance Consultant for O’Brien House.  

 

In her services to the Community, her Faith enabled her to be the Founder of The Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame – a specialized program of collecting, honoring and preserving successful Louisiana African American History “To Educate and Inspire Achievement”. Its concept began in 1988, officially recorded with The Louisiana Secretary of State Office in 1989, introduced to the public via press conference in 1990 hosted by The Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, confirmed with a Louisiana Historical Scholars Committee and designated as the official “Preserver and Keeper of The Chronicles of Louisiana’s Great Black Achievers” by The Lieutenant Governor in 1992, a first of its kind in the state and nation. 

 

In 2009, she and a dedicated team of men, women, donors and organizations were responsible for acquiring and saving a historical monument—-The Historic Lincoln Theater in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to restore it.  In 2010, Mrs. Dunn worked with a Historic Committee and further documented its significance as a landmark to be officially listed on The National Registrar of Historic Places, in 2011, she named this team The DREAM Team as they prayers and started on this ‘Journey of Faith” Restoration Project to (1) restore the historic Lincoln Theater as a cultural center and (2) to expand it to house The Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame as a unique historical museum.  Together, these two historical entities will stand as one and serve for generations to come as “The Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame Museum and Cultural Center at The Historic Lincoln Theater” which will provide programming and services in the many Shades of Heritage through Performing and Cultural Arts Programing and Events in Music, Theater, Film & Video, History and The Arts & Entertainment
